Curraghs Wildlife Park Overview
Located at the edge of the Ballaugh Curraghs, Curraghs Wildlife Park is a wetland wildlife park ('curraghs' being a Manx word for wet) that's made up of boggy woodland and natural enclosures. Visitors are able to walk along designated paths through most of the enclosures with the emphasis being on trying to create environments as close as possible to the animals' natural habitats. Enclosures are based on geographical boundaries and represent the different countries of the world. Close Beg is a children's farm area aimed at teaching younger visitors about domestic animals and there are also indoor and outdoor play areas. The Ark is another educational attraction where visitors can learn about the problems facing many animals and the need to protect wild habitats. Visitors can also ride a miniature railway line.
