Nightlife:Kathmandu is not renowned for its nightlife but most visitors will find something to do to pass a pleasant evening. Night birds will have a hard time though as, by law, all music in public places has to be turned off by 2200. However, entertainment does go on after 2200 in the Thamel area. There are entertainment listings sections in both the
Kathmandu Post and

Bars are concentrated in Thamel. Try
Pub Maya,
Paddy Foley’s Irish Bar, Rum Doodle Bar, or
J-Bar. Also worth checking out is the
Absolute Bar in Narayani Complex, Patan.
Casinos are very popular in Kathmandu (website:
