    Currency Information:

    Currency
Surinam Dollar (SRD; symbol S$) = 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of S$100, 50,
    20, 10 and 5. Coins are in denominations of 250, 100, 25, 10, 5 and 1 cents.

    Note:
On 1 January 2004, the Surinam Dollar replaced the Surinam Guilder as the new monetary system. Surinam Dollars are tied to US Dollars. American Express and MasterCard are the most widely accepted credit cards; Diners Club has limited acceptance.
