Note1A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travelers coming within six days from infected areas.
2Following WHO guidelines issued in 1973, a cholera vaccination certificate is not a condition of entry to the Syrian Arab Republic. Up-to-date advice should be sought before deciding whether precautions should include vaccination, as medical opinion is divided over its effectiveness.
3Vaccination against typhoid is advised.
4Malaria risk, exclusively in the benign
vivax form, exists along the northern border, in the El Hassaka province, from May through October.
