Tour Overview
A condensed tour of the essential Peruvian highlights, culminating with a visit to magnificent Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas".

Day 1 Arrive Lima
Arrive in Lima at any time.

Day 2-3 Puno and Lake Titicaca (2B)
Fly to Juliaca and drive to Puno, on the shores of legendary Lake Titicaca. Enjoy a day trip out on the lake to visit Taquile and/or Amantani Islands, stopping on the floating reed islands of the Uros people, before returning to Puno.

Day 4-5 Cuzco (2B)
Take in spectacular views of the Altiplano region on this full day of travel from Puno to Cuzco. This is a city of ornate architecture, nestled between the rolling hills and mountains at 3400 m elevation. After a late afternoon arrival, walk around the main square and spend free time to exploring this intriguing colonial city. Next day is your chance to explore Cuzco in more depth. The guided city tour introduces Cuzco's rich history and major attractions. Options include horseback riding, mountain or motor biking, hiking or visits to other nearby Incan sites or the Sacred Valley.

Day 6 Sacred Valley / Ollantaytambo (B)
Travel through the Sacred Valley on an expert guided tour that includes lunch and a stop at the Pisac market. Spend a night in the valley to get a real taste of village life in the Andes.

Day 7 Aguas Calientes (B)
Ride an early morning train and wind through the Urubamba Valley towards Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the local scenery or the bustling activity along the railway tracks. Archaeology buffs can visit Machu Picchu independently before the guided tour the following morning.

Day 8 Machu Picchu / Cuzco (B)
