| Since the 1950s, the rich and famous have flocked to the gorgeous beaches, opulent villas, and exhilarating nightlife of Acapulco—Mexico’s first resort town. After a period of disrepair a few years ago, however, this jet-setter’s paradise was looking awfully tattered. Today, after a massive cleanup effort, visitors crowd to see bronzed men diving from cliffs into the Pacific, and luxury hotels dominate the bay. As for the dance-till-dawn energy Acapulco was founded upon, it’s still alive and well. |
