Day 01: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - Hwange National Park
Transferred to the Victoria Falls airport for scheduled fixed wing bush flight to Hwange National Park airstrip. You are met by a lodge representative for land transfer to Makalolo Plains. Makalolo Plains is situated in a remote area within the vast Hwange National Park and is one of the few camps built within the park. Hwange is legendary for its wonderful array of wildlife and massive herds of Elephant and Buffalo - especially in the dryer winter months. Makalolo Plains (L,D)Day 02: Hwange National Park
You will have a full day to enjoy game viewing activities with your lodge guide. There are excellent opportunities to view wildlife from open 4x4 Land Rovers during the early morning and late afternoon when animals are most active. Foot safaris are also offered, and are accompanied by an armed professional guide. The camp is set in a unique location, overlooking the Samavundhla Pan that attracts wildlife in good concentrations. After morning game drive, you will transfer to Matusadona airstrip for flight to Mana Pools National Park. You are met by a lodge representative for land transfer to yoour camp. Ruckomechi camp is situated on the eastern boundary of the Mana Pools National Park overlooking the Zambezi and Sapi Rivers. Activities and wildlife viewing are enjoyed in open 4x4 vehicles, on motorised pontoon boats, on foot, in hides and in canoes. This afternoon, enjoy game viewing activities with your lodge guide. You will have a full day to enjoy game viewing activities with your lodge guide. The focal point at Ruckomechi is the magical Zambezi River, its backwaters, and the surrounding flood plains and forests. Chikwenya Island, just offshore, harbors wonderfully diverse wildlife. The area is a photographer's paradise, as tall Albida trees dot the open flood plains, with the mountains of the Rift Valley providing the backdrop. The area is renowned for its large numbers of Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, and Eland that concentrate along the river when the inland waterholes dry up - especially in the winter months. Leopard and Lion are present but are not seen as regularly as other wildlife. Ruckomechi Camp (B,L,D)Day 05: Mana Pools - Victoria Falls
Transfer to Mana Pools airstrip for charter flight to Victoria Falls airport. You are met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure in Victoria Falls. The hotel has its own private path to the Victoria Falls, which is less than a 10-minute walk away (entrance fee is on own account.) Discover why the Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world as you tour the Zimbabwean side, which offers various vantage points along the width of the Falls, to view this natural phenomenon. Walk through the rain forest - a fun experience and quite beautiful. Stop at several vantage pints to view the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island.
